sister winter, vol. II

I realize that this is a humorous post for those that live north of the Mason-Dixon line; for people who see that white powder called "snow" more than once a year...

But for me, a southerner to the root, I was almost giddy when I woke up to a dusting of snow. I even found myself saying out loud, "This is beautiful!" though no one was around.

Unfortunately, the temperature is rising above freezing, so this near wonderland is quickly melting. But for those who were as excited as me to welcome the snow, I feel like this was a great ending to a quickly approaching spring.

The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment then where is it to be found? ~J.B. Priestley

{I promise I won't be 'quote-girl' forever; they just seem to fit the mood lately.}

You know I love snow in the South. Reminds me of winter back up North.
