show me a woman who doesn't love a deal...

One of the materialistic pleasures of wedding planning is accessorizing--of course accessorizing the event, but more importantly, accessorizing yourself. I kept it pretty simple; I wore my sister's veil, wore earrings and a bracelet (given to me as a wedding present by my sister) made by lillyella, and one of the best pairs of shoes I've ever seen in real life. I'd had fun looking for shoes, but hadn't had much luck. We were trying to throw an epic event for 300 people on a less-than-average wedding budget, so I'd kept myself on a strict $50 or less budget for shoes. Since our wedding would be mostly outdoors, I wanted wedges so that I wouldn't aerate the lawns with my heels and fall flat on my face. I also wanted a pair that would be fun and surprising, but that didn't distract from my gown. {After taking my shoes and gown in for my last fitting, I walked around the part of town I was in, shopping while holding my shoes in my free hand. "Ooohh, what cute shoes!" I had a woman say to me. "Thanks, they're my wedding shoes!" "Oh. But you're not going to wear them with your wedding gown, are you?" "Yeah... I am... They're my wedding shoes."} My sister found my wedding shoes while out shopping for herself at no place other than Ross: Dress for Less. I love that place. Love. Along with TJ Maxx and Marshalls, there's no where else I'd rather shop for shoes and house decor. That is, unless, I somehow fall into lots and lots of money and I can rationalize and afford buying those things at Anthropologie. So she called me, told me she'd found my shoes, bought them for me since she knew they'd be perfect... and bought a pair for herself in purple since they were only $14.99. I can't blame the girl.

Anyway, I've had tons and tons... and tons of brides contact me asking me where I got my shoes and what the brand was. (They're Dollhouse, by the way.) No only are they super cute, but the fact that they were such a steal makes them even more amazing in my book. So this post is dedicated to beautiful shoes: all fun, all statement making, all that could be worn under a wedding gown... all for under $50.

ASOS is one of my favorite online shops, and these are one of my favorite pairs of shoes. ASOS is a British clothing distributor, but their prices and their shipping are pretty reasonable. I've only bought one dress off their site, but I often daydream about buying things in pounds and having a British accent like I'm sure their models have. Oh, and as a tip, you can change the currency of the site by clicking in the right hand corner of the site.

I can see these shoes being worn to a country-chic wedding. The stitching on the flower of this shoe is so sweet, and the color is so unexpected. They also come in yellow and turquoise.

The making of these shoes are classic, but the colors make them fantastic. That bright blue will knock anyone's socks off!

These shoes are great if you're going with a vintage vibe. Plus, the heels are low, so you won't be taking them off 2-hours into the night. They also come in turquoise.

I guess these are the most "wedding" shoes I've included. But they remind me so much of my shoes, aside from the heel. They also come in silver and gold.

Ummm, if these don't scream "Wear me to a spring or summer wedding!" I don't know what does. They also come in pink and black polka-dots.

I love the frills and slight platform of these shoes. Plus, they're a pair of shoes you can wear loooonnng after your wedding.

The detailing of the dots and zig-zag and the piping and the lining make these shoes a ten out of ten to me. Plus, the heel is thick enough to where it wouldn't get stuck in the grass if you're needing to wear them outside. They also come in tan and black.

Flats. Ribbon. Peep-toes. Check, check, check. Forget your wedding day; these beauties can be worn any day of the year. I opted for height on my wedding day so that I would be forced to stand up straight (and to add a couple coveted inches to my 5' 4" stature), but I applaud a bride who can get away with flats. She'll out-dance me at a wedding ten times to one. They also come in navy and black.

"Hi. My name is Statement Piece. I'm really, really fun. Seriously. I love long walks in the city, rhinestones, the color pink and aerosol hairspray. I also come in black."

OK. So I saved the best for last. Can you imagine these bad boys popping out from beneath a your gown? You'd stop 'em dead in their tracks. They just make me feel like having a good time.

And this is why I follow your blog. Great post!!! Love the yellow ribbon flats and the very last, which are too darling. Thank you for FINALLY letting us know where you got your wedding shoes! They look like something J.Crew would make but never did. Some of my best shoes also came from Ross and Marshall's (Ralph Lauren cream patened leather peep toe pumps for $18? Can't beat that with a stick).

Ooh, I'm so glad you posted this. I've been in love with those shoes ever since I first saw them on Snippet & Ink. I hope I can find a pair I love as much--especially if it's for $14.99! :)

Oooh, I LOVE this post! Find me a pair that wears like sneakers so I can rationalize chasing Noah around the house in them, and I'm yours for life, lol ;)

It's nice to catch up with what's new on the sandals front. After taking a quick look at the pictures i have to say: I'm not sure if they'll protect you against sharks and alligators, but they sure as hell better than wearing my high heels, lol :)
