"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."
- Pablo Picasso

Its been a while since I've posted any student work, so I thought I'd cheer up an otherwise gloomy Thursday with some rays of sweet, sweet sunshine in the form of a painting or clay or collage.

version 2.0: the spring NOT wedding

I'm really not sure if I could BE any more excited about the latest installment of The NOT Wedding. The April 5th event will be similar to last year, only amped up a notch... or ten. Why? Oh, only because they're giving away a FREE wedding!

"The winning couple will get married on May 31, 2009 at Sun in My Belly in Atlanta and will get everything from the dress to the flowers to the catering to the photography... all for free. And their wedding will grace the pages of Weddings Unveiled magazine's summer issue. See, total rockstars."

Aside from possibly winning a FREE wedding (and keeping an easy 30 G's in your wallet), the event itself will be killer--good food, great company, and a much needed escape from the traditional wedding expos.

The NotWedding Atlanta - April 5, 2009
The W Hotel Buckhead
3377 Peachtree Road NE · Atlanta, Georgia 30326
{valet parking offered for $12}

Doors open at 4. Ceremony at 5. Reception at 6.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online only.
Admission includes a gift bag {the first 100 receive a super-deluxe bag}... food, drinks and dancing... a raffle ticket... and quite possibly the most fun you'll ever have.

This event is limited to the first 350 guests who register online here: RSVP

I'll be the hair lovelies vendor for the event, and I'll be amongst tons of other fantastic vendors: The W Hotel Buckhed {venue and catering}, Our Labor of Love {photography}, Ashley Barber Weddings {coordinator}, Verde Paperie {invitations}, Joy Thigpen {creative director}, Amy Osaba {flowers}, Jacob's Reverie {ceremony music} and Feeling is Mutual {wedding favors}! I mean, come ON! Does the list get more stacked than that?!

Get a babysitter, gas up your car, buy a plane ticket, take off work... just do what it takes to be here for this event. Epic? Yes. Most definitely.

it's only appropriate...

...that I make a lovely that resembles a Daffodil!  We're having crazy weather here in Nashville; Mondays of 20s and weekends of 70s.  I've noticed a lot of flowering trees and flowers being confused, especially the Daffodils.  Though they normally bloom early in spring, I can't help but be a little sad for them.  They're just mixed up in this crazy weather.

{ Happy Friday. }

real 'oh, my deer!' lovelies

I can't believe it was last summer that I started dabbling in my hair lovelies!  Sometimes it feels like ages ago, but most of the time it feels like I'm just getting my feet wet.

One of my first customers was a lovely bride from Singapore!  To top it off, our wedding photographer, Jose Villa, was shooting the wedding, so I knew I'd get some killer photos of the ladies in action.
