The prettiest variations of peach and coral were left on my palette a few days ago. They were just too lovely to leave undocumented. After I took the picture I saw the profile of a girl--her ponytail, her chin... and then there's some sort of red growth coming out of her back. Ignore that. But can you see the profile?

happy three years, tiny home
Happy three years of being our home, our refuge, our safe place, our party house, our workspace and our blessing, Tiny House. We've done our best to take care of you while you take care of us.
Grateful for a dry, safe place to lay my head at night. Grateful for his gem of a home. Grateful for this tiny piece of land entrusted to us.
If you want to take a peek into its changing over the three years we've had it, check out these other posts: our new home / year one (Look how small the perennials in front of the house were when we first planted them! It's amazing what a couple years will do!) / year two
I know you've had a lot of feet come in and out of your life in your 107 years, but just know that we think you're something special.

the promise of spring + peonies
I talked about this last year, but I thought I'd share the story again. The image above was taken a few days ago of a peony bush in our yard. This first blossom came to us on Good Friday--new life, promises and beauty on such a poignant day.
A few Falls ago, my grandfather and grandmother came across some peonies in a neighbor's trashcan who'd mistaken them as weeds. They dug them out of the trash and saved them for our new home's yard. Two years ago, when they should have bloomed for the first time, they were squelched by Nashville's flood. Last year, as I anticipated their fragrant blooms, they only produced fat buds with a couple actually flowering. This year, watching them bud and bloom in abundance has brought me such sweet memories of him, in the form of my favorite flower.
"As you go through this day, look for tiny treasures strategically placed along the way. I lovingly go before you and plant little pleasures to brighten your day. Look carefully for them, and pluck them one by one. When you reach the end of the day, you will have gathered a lovely bouquet. Offer it up to Me with a grateful heart. Receive My Peace as you lie down to sleep, and with thankful thoughts playing a lullaby in your mind." -an excerpt from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
